Physical Therapy
Combined Decongestive Therapy (CDT) consists
of four components to treat primary and secondary lymphedema: skin care, manual lymph drainage, compression, and exercise.
These four components act in concert to reduce lymph volume and thus increase one’s quality of life.
As part of the therapy, patients are educated in these fundaments of CDT,
so ultimately they may self-manage their condition.
Moving to Better provides day- and night compression garments of the renowned companies
Juzo,
Jobst,
CircAid, and
BiaCare to name a few.
The 904 Low Level Laser is used to aid in the treatment of lymphedema and radiation related tissue fibrosis and scarring. For more information on the laser treatments see the article: Low Level Laser Therapy - Facts.
Orthopedic Manual Therapy restores joint and muscle function by using techniques to reset the nervous system, relax muscles, and increase joint mobility. And thus, improving function. Persons with long standing conditions like back and neck pain, headaches, knee or ankle pain, are treated here.
Manual Lymphatic Massage can be helpfull as a pre- or post surgery/injury treatment to have as little edema as possible and to recover quicker from surgery/injury. Especially, manual lymphatic massage helps reduce swelling after a bone fracture and so reducing pressure pain at the fracture site.
Moving to Better Health is not in-network with health insurance companies, but will provide you with a statement in a form accepted by insurance plans.
